all of which other cable or telegraph companies controll- ing persons or bodies or administrations are hereinafter referred to as such a company" or "such companies "), directly or indirectly object to or oppose any actual or projected reductions by any of such companies in the rates of charge for telegrams originating in the United Kingdom and destined for countries or places outside the Continent of Europe or originating in such countries or places as last aforesaid and destined for the United Kingdom.
(2) In the event of any such reductions being made by any of such companies the Company shall accept the reduced rates as the basis of accounting under the joint purse agreements if such companies making such reduc- tions shall be willing to grant to the Company the right to make similar reductions in the Company's rates of charge for telegrams transmitted between the same places and the right to account to such companies in respect of such telegrams accordingly.
(3) If at any time hereafter the British Government shall grant to such a company for the time being engaged in the transmission of Far Eastern telegrams, a fresh licence or the extension of an existing licence to land cables in the United Kingdom and shall not include in the document effecting the licence or extension a clause to the same or similar effect (mutatis mutandis) as this clause, then and in such case the omission of the said clause from the said document, unless consented to by the Company, shall be deemed thenceforth to release the Com- pany from the observance of this clause.
